Abstract

|
|
This article highlights the recent development of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment for pathological gambling. Diagnosis and patients selection is required for further adequate treatment. Although there are, no approved pharmacological treatments for pathological gambling, efficacy of opiate antagonist and mood stabilizers have been reported. Among non-pharmacological treatments, cognitive-behavioral therapy is most widely used. Some important issues in cognitive-behavioral therapy for pathological gambling are also introduced.
